Velocity of the wind high,
Black clouds above me static,
Photons from the stars dark,
And my heart turns to stardust
As I see her with another star.
We used to make love
Underneath quiet tree branches,
Beneath the clouds at night,
But she defied nature’s gravity
And ran away with a star.
Protons shift in my body,
My heart slows its beat,
And as the rope tightens
Around my brittle neck,
Moonlight begins to fade.
