Wemix

What is or who is Wemix?

Simply put, WeMix is a platform for Artistes and industry promoters to interact seamlessly with their audiences and improve the relationships between them.

This project started in the wake of 2011 with the aim of marketing Christian music and entertainment through digital means (website & social network marketing) and setting up events to promote artistes and fresh home grown talent.

Why did you choose to promote or focus on gospel music?

The Christian music industry has been undergoing a revolution, redefining entertainment and breathing life to the music industry, providing creativity and uniqueness in sound, quality and content.

The industry is promising but unlike the mainstream it quite lacks good promotion and marketing, WeMix wants to be a part of this movement by giving artistes a platform for their music to be heard.

What inspired the start of Wemix Entertainment?

One word, Passion. A deep love of good music and the belief of knowing that Christian music / entertainment has a statement to make.

We always believed that this music is equally good or has the potential to topple what is known in the mainstream, we are talking about quality in both production and lyrical content. And even if it’s not yet that good, it was high time that someone/something arose to create demand and accountability for quality music from the Christian industry.

There are a lot gospel artistes who copy secular artistes tunes and modifying their songs, what’s your take on that?

At WeMix we believe in and encourage creativity. But then also music is a tool, a murderer with a hammer in his hands will think of his next victim whereas a carpenter with a hammer in his hand will create a chair for people to relax in.

So it depends on which angle you look at it from, this topic goes on and on.

There are so many upcoming gospel artistes, what would be your advice on how to grow their fanbase and maintain it?

Work hard, Pray well, do good Marketing and stay humble…in today’s world, artistes or record labels set aside budgets and plans for their music, they know I will need this much for this and that, and start off well.

For example WeMix encourages artistes to keep us updated on what is going on in their work, we have a wide fan base and are dedicated to promote the artistes, we wouldn’t want anyone to miss out on our platforms (website, facebook & twitter).

We have the numbers and this is why we exist.

There has been a recent crackdown artistes posters and banners by KCCA , what would be your advice to KCCA on alternative forms of artistes events?

Do you mean on how artistes can promote their events, We believe online is the way to go, in today’s world everything is going mobile, with the invention of smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices people can access anything from medical help, banking, education etc… can be accessed on one’s finger tips by just a click. People slowly by slowly are not entirely relying on radio, t.v and print as their main source of information. And it’s more cost effective to go online with an assured fan base, proven by statistics.

Print, Radio and T.V are still good but online is getting an edge over all these other mediums.

Where will Wemix Entertainment be in the next five years?

The number one music promotion and entertainment hub. Connecting artistes and other industry players to their target market. Top notch service delivery to all our clients. And guaranteed satisfaction to all stakeholders.

This is totally off the record do you know Deejay S-kam Zac?

Well, now we know lol but this is a journey well started, and we are sure we will really get to know who he is probably have a cup of coffee or something.

Thank you very much for this opportunity of allowing us to share our heart and passion.
